Regulations for Granting the Certification Mark for Compliance with JSA Standards for Hypochlorous Acid Water

The Industrial Association will revise the regulations regarding the granting of certification marks in accordance with JSA standards for commercially available sodium hypochlorite water starting April 1, 2024. The new direction aimed for by this revision is to strengthen the foundation for increasing membership and disseminating information such as the spread of the JSA mark. With these revisions, we expect that more companies will obtain the "JSA standards compliance" certification mark for sodium hypochlorite water and be able to demonstrate its reliability. 【Revision Points】 ■ Before Revision - Membership in the Japan Sodium Hypochlorite Chemical Industry Association requires "recommendation from a member." - Costs are incurred based on the number of certification marks used. ■ After Revision - A new "JSA Special Membership Qualification" has been established to make applications easier. - Membership in the association can be obtained more easily. - A flat-rate system is adopted regardless of the number of certification marks used. There has been no standard establishing safety criteria for hypochlorous acid products in Japan until now. The Japan Hypochlorous Acid Chemical Industry Association, with the cooperation of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, will create the "JSA Standard" to certify the safety of hypochlorous acid water products in Japan.
