The challenges of human resource development faced by manufacturing companies are diverse. The evolution of technology continues unabated, with new technologies and methodologies emerging daily. Adapting as a company to this rapid pace of change and effectively conveying the latest technologies to employees is not easy. Furthermore, the "break in technology" caused by the retirement of experienced technicians, resulting in the loss of accumulated knowledge and skills, is also a significant issue. Traditional on-the-job training (OJT) and training programs remain key methods for human resource development, but these methods alone have limitations in rapid technology transfer and knowledge sharing. In particular, visual materials are very effective for mastering complex processes and intricate techniques. In this context, the production of manuals using videos is gaining attention. Videos can capture actual work processes in real-time and visually demonstrate detailed techniques and procedures. This allows employees to learn at their own pace and facilitates deeper understanding. Additionally, recording knowledge in videos before technicians retire enables the preservation of valuable skills. We will overview the current state and challenges of human resource development in manufacturing and propose the use of video manuals as a future educational method.
