It can also be used to add color to existing plating or zinc flake coatings. The treatment can be applied to various metals such as iron, stainless steel, and aluminum. For iron, there are types that use standard zinc plating and chromate layers as a base, as well as completely chromium-free types. For stainless steel, it is possible to impart high resistance against weaknesses such as chlorine and electrocorrosion.
