No media is used. The only substances used are water and ultrasound. If rust is a concern, water with rust inhibitors or hydrocarbon-based solvents can be used. Coolant liquid is also an option. The basic substance is water. The target workpieces are placed in a hexagonal rotating basket, and powerful ultrasound is applied while rotating to remove burrs. The workpieces are polished, burrs are removed, and they are cleaned by the impact force generated by vibrations of over 20,000 times per second and the cavities (micro vacuum nuclei) created by the ultrasound. Processing of 100 to several tens of thousands of pieces at a time is possible. This technology liberates you from the heavy labor of conventional barrel polishing. Since there is no media, most of the work becomes light labor. There is no need for separation by sieving. Cleaning is unnecessary. Drying is also easy. Labor costs can be significantly reduced. This is a revolutionary new technology for barrel polishing.
