We will introduce a case where the production capacity was increased by proposing modifications to existing equipment plus additional enhancements for the packaging of a new product!
We would like to introduce a case study of modifications made to a "pillow packaging machine" at Company K, a confectionery manufacturer that produces traditional and Western-style sweets, as well as rice cakes. The company considered the introduction of the machine with the aim of individual packaging for a new candy product and the dual use for rice cakes that were previously packaged in pillow form, along with an increase in production capacity. Simplification of dual use and sanitary conditions were key requirements. As a solution, the supply method of the pillow packaging machine was changed to a belt type to achieve dual usability. Additionally, sanitary conditions were taken into account for packaging various types of confections (fresh confections, soybean flour products, etc.). 【Case Overview】 ■ Background of Introduction - Consideration for the introduction aimed at individual packaging of a new candy product and dual use for rice cakes that were previously packaged in pillow form, along with an increase in production capacity. ■ Effects of Introduction - Improvement in packaging capacity (maximum): 90 pieces/min - Achieved dual usability by changing the supply method of the pillow packaging machine to a belt type. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us. *A collection of case studies on packaging-related problem-solving is also available for download.
