[On-site DX Case] Displacement Measurement of Retaining Walls Automated at Low Cost, Reducing Labor, IoT
Management of sheet piles and retaining walls using wireless inclinometers to reduce equipment costs - Easy on-site DX (NETIS registered product)
In this case study, the customer had previously measured displacements of retaining walls such as sheet piles and timber piles using conventional plumb lines, piano wires, or methods like wave surveying and total stations. With the typical measurement methods, workers manually took measurements regularly, which made continuous measurement, recording, and monitoring impossible. Additionally, the measurement process itself was labor-intensive. When using total stations, the costs and management of the equipment were a significant burden. The company was also focusing on improving productivity through site digital transformation (DX) by utilizing advanced technologies like IoT. ■ Implementing Company: Major General Contractor ■ Challenges Before Implementation: - Manual measurements were burdensome - Continuous measurement, recording, and monitoring were difficult - Total stations were expensive ■ Reasons for Selection: - Achieved constant automatic measurement, recording, and monitoring at a low cost, with immediate alerts in case of anomalies - Simple start-up on-site by just installing the equipment and turning on the switch - The inclinometer is battery-operated, eliminating the need for power on-site ■ Effects of Implementation: - Reduced manpower in measurement tasks - Lower costs for measurement equipment - Reduced costs for installation work * This system is available for rental and double rental.
