Alumina fillers can impart functionality to resins by enhancing thermal conductivity while maintaining insulation properties through filling. The thermal conductivity of the filler alone can be evaluated, which raises expectations for further performance improvements in materials or ceramics that utilize the filler, as well as in the particles used as raw materials for ceramics or the final ceramic products themselves. By using our thermal microscope TM3, it is possible to measure the thermal conductivity of thin films (from 100 nm) and the thermal diffusivity in micro-regions (from 3 μm).
