Food foreign matter analysis <Resin-based foreign matter, estimating contamination timing through verification tests>
By observing the appearance and conducting component identification and verification tests using FTIR, the contamination period can be estimated. It is also possible to confirm whether it is derived from the product.
As a case of food foreign matter analysis, we will introduce an example of rubber bands being mixed in. For the testing, we conducted component identification through visual observation and IR measurement. Next, we measured the oil absorption of the verification sample and estimated that the foreign matter was mixed in during the end user's consumption. From interviews with customers, we will grasp the detailed situation and propose appropriate testing. In the case of estimating the mixing period, to create the verification sample where mixing is estimated, we request that you provide one unit of the relevant product, while we will prepare rubber bands, chopsticks, and toothpicks.
