[Seminar] Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture: Effective Use of Energy Leveraging Regional Characteristics

<Tokyo Event> Initiatives for Decarbonization of the Shunan Complex: Hydrogen, Ammonia, Wood Biomass

We will hold a seminar titled "Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture: Utilizing Energy Based on Regional Characteristics." In Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, we are working on the utilization of hydrogen and woody biomass, leveraging the regional characteristics where a large amount of high-purity hydrogen is produced at the Shunan Complex and approximately 80% of the area is covered by forests. Additionally, the Shunan Complex Decarbonization Promotion Council, established in 2022, is promoting the maintenance and enhancement of the industrial competitiveness of the Shunan Complex and decarbonization through collaboration among industry, academia, government, and the private sector. Currently, we are advancing discussions aimed at achieving a carbon-neutral complex, starting with the utilization of ammonia. This presentation will provide detailed explanations of these initiatives.
