To enhance patient satisfaction, a highly requested free Wi-Fi environment has been established in the outpatient and inpatient buildings.
The Independent Administrative Institution National Hospital Organization Osaka Medical Center has decided to provide free Wi-Fi for outpatients and inpatients as one of the measures to enhance patient satisfaction, prompted by requests from patients. The implementation includes three models: the wireless access point "DBA-2520P," which is compatible with the cloud-based network management service "Nuclias Cloud," the PoE-powered switch "DGS-1250-28XMP," and the L3 switch "DGS-1520-28" that aggregates them. As free Wi-Fi began full operation in April 2023, we spoke with the person in charge about its impact on patient satisfaction and the separation from the existing network. [Key Points] - Established free Wi-Fi for patients and trainees, completely separate from the existing network. - Announced in advance that patients would connect to Wi-Fi themselves to avoid impacting regular operations. - Achieved high patient satisfaction with stable communication. Cloud operation management also contributed to reducing the load.
