1. Ideal for artificial membrane permeability tests without using Caco-2 cells. 2. Good reproducibility and wide applicability. 3. 96-well format.
PermeaPad Plate uses a unique lamination technology to pack a phospholipid membrane with a cellulose film membrane, creating an artificial membrane (PermeaPad). PermeaPad is used in artificial membrane permeability tests for early-stage drug screening. It can be stored at room temperature and does not require any pre-treatment, making it easy to handle. Due to its three-layer structure of <cellulose>-<phospholipid>-<cellulose>, PermeaPad is resistant to solvents and surfactants, allowing for permeability testing. Furthermore, it maintains stable permeability across a wide pH range (pH 1 to 10), making it less susceptible to pH gradients and enabling tests under various conditions. The PermeaPad Plate is in a 96-well plate format. The drugs added to the insert plate (or bottom plate) permeate to the bottom plate (or insert plate), and the concentration changes are analyzed using HPLC or LC-MS. The bottom plate can be set in a standard microplate reader, providing excellent versatility.
