Current Status of the Domestic Life Science Ecosystem
Our company will hold a seminar on "Astellas Pharma's Global Open Innovation Strategy." In recent years, as open innovation accelerates, many innovative solutions are emerging from the collaboration of diverse players in the life sciences field. In Japan, it is essential for industry, government, and academia to work together to mature an ecosystem that supports such collaboration. Astellas has actively incorporated external innovations, particularly in Europe and the United States, into drug discovery for over a decade. Furthermore, in recent years, we have been engaging in various activities that leverage the characteristics of each region, such as the development of open labs and strategic partnerships with universities, to contribute to the advancement of the ecosystem. This presentation will provide a detailed analysis of the current state and challenges of Japan's life sciences ecosystem, as well as Astellas' global initiatives.
