Silica (SiO2) is synthetic amorphous silicon dioxide. Synthetic silica can be used for various applications such as matting agents, flow enhancers, carriers, anti-caking agents, defoamers, rheology modifiers, and abrasives. Precipitated silica has a more open structure than silica gel. During manufacturing, various combinations of surface area, oil absorption, and bulk density can be achieved.
