Here is a case study introducing a proposal for reusing chucks through laser cladding. The chuck jaws wore out within two months, leading to frequent stoppages. This resulted in increased replacement labor and decreased operating rates, creating various issues. Additionally, due to the high cost of the parts needed to create new jaws, production costs became prohibitively expensive, making it difficult to implement improvements. By using a highly wear-resistant cladding material, we extended the lifespan of the chucks, which led to reduced maintenance costs and increased operating rates.
