Here are some examples of the breeding improvements we are conducting, such as the improvement of chrysanthemums aimed at addressing climate change.
Our company is engaged in variety improvement through neutron beam breeding (speedy breeding). We have a track record of neutron beam irradiation aimed at improving varieties of burdock to enhance productivity and increase yield, as well as to impart characteristics to chrysanthemums that make them less susceptible to high-temperature damage (such as delayed flowering) and provide disease resistance. Please contact us if you have any requests. 【Example of Variety Improvement (Excerpt)】 ■Target: Burdock ■Desired Characteristics: Small and short leaves on burdock ■Objectives - Improvement of productivity - Increase in yield - Consumer needs (easy to handle) *For more details, please feel free to contact us.

Starting as a private company initiated by local volunteers under the proposal of the Ibaraki University Graduate School of Science and Engineering, we aim to develop a new technological domain that is globally competitive through collaboration between radiation-related facilities concentrated in Ibaraki Prefecture and the vibrant agriculture in the region. Our goal is to commercialize the use of neutrons for crop improvement, which, while considered effective among experts, had not been socially implemented, thereby contributing to the realization of a sustainable society. We have conducted repeated demonstration experiments, enabling the generation of dynamic and large quantities of mutants that were previously unattainable. In 2020, we patented the technology for generating mutagens using neutrons, and we are currently providing solutions not only for crop improvement in agriculture but also as a useful technology for the development of industrial microorganisms, catering to companies and research institutions engaged in biological breeding and variety development.
