"Knock Not Needed!" is a display system that allows users to quickly check the usage status of facilities such as restrooms. This system is built by combining devices equipped with EnOcean wireless modules that utilize energy harvesting (environmental power generation) technology. Since the system generates power to transmit signals, the transmitting devices (key sensors, motion sensors, magnetic sensors, etc.) do not require batteries or wiring, making it easy to retrofit into existing facilities with simple construction. The basic equipment configuration is "transmission device → receiver → display." Since the count sign/single sign has the receiver built into the display, it results in a very simple configuration of "transmission device → display." The digital sign consists of the equipment configuration "transmission device → receiver → mini PC (Windows) → display monitor." By using a GATEWAY instead of a receiver for each, it becomes possible to check usage status (or sensor status) remotely from smartphones or tablets via internet output. EnOcean wireless sensors such as temperature and humidity sensors and CO2 sensors cover a wide range, so by creatively installing the sensors and their locations, it enables a broad range of IoT operations, including not only usage status but also environmental management and security measures.
