"Knock Not Needed!" is an information display device that allows users to easily check the usage status of facilities such as restrooms. This system is built by combining devices equipped with EnOcean wireless modules that utilize energy harvesting (environmental power generation) technology. Since it transmits signals through power generation, the transmitting devices (key sensors, motion sensors, magnetic sensors, etc.) do not require batteries or wiring, allowing for easy retrofitting in currently used facilities with minimal construction. The basic equipment configuration is "transmitting device → receiver → display." Since the count sign/single sign has the receiver built into the display, it results in a very simple configuration of "transmitting device → display." The digital sign consists of the equipment configuration "transmitting device → receiver → mini PC (Windows) → display monitor." By using a GATEWAY instead of a receiver for internet output, it also becomes possible to check usage status (or sensor status) remotely from smartphones or tablets. EnOcean wireless sensors, such as temperature and humidity sensors and CO2 sensors, cover a wide range, so by creatively installing sensors and choosing installation locations, it becomes possible to manage not only usage status but also environmental management and security measures, enabling a wide range of IoT operations.
