【Lecture Overview】 As various pathways to achieving carbon neutrality are being explored, expectations for CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) are rising as a solution that can significantly and stably reduce or remove CO2. Against this backdrop, the environment surrounding CCS is undergoing significant changes, and the number of CCS projects is increasing dramatically worldwide. Currently, over 600 projects are underway, primarily in North America and Europe. The "Global Status of CCS 2024" report published by the Global CCS Institute in October last year emphasizes the importance of CCS in achieving net zero from various perspectives.
