Let's change to a lifestyle that is gentle on the environment, the community, and ourselves!
Social Infrastructure (Saitama University Research Seed Collection 2025-27 p.24)
Keywords: Environmental planning, environmental assessment, consensus building, water supply and sewage.
We are engaged in research that aims to improve our everyday lives while continuing to study our immediate environment, infrastructure, and social systems in an interdisciplinary manner. Focusing on reducing environmental impact, we seek to uncover the invisible challenges faced by the environment, infrastructure, and social systems, exploring their causes and searching for solutions. Additionally, we study the design of planning processes for local governments and large-scale projects to aid in consensus building, aiming to contribute to sustainable community development. Currently, we are focusing on water supply and sewage systems, challenging ourselves to identify areas where business efficiency may decline due to population decrease, as well as developing methods for visualizing water flow and estimating future district-specific operational costs. We explore integrated and sustainable measures to address the challenges posed by the decrease in users, the increasing burden of fees, and the need to secure local water environments, which encompass social, economic, and environmental aspects. We will also apply the developed methods to other infrastructures and social systems.
