[Design Development Outsourcing/ODM Case] Function Checker

A case where the reduction of inspection man-hours was achieved by conducting functional testing simultaneously with the writing process instead of as a separate process.

We would like to introduce a case where we developed a function checker for control boards used in multifunction printers. Our customer requested to "improve inspection efficiency" and to "achieve cost reduction through shorter delivery lead times and reduced manufacturing labor due to efficiency improvements." With our proposal, we created a specification that allows for collaboration with an onboard writer that writes firmware to the control board, enabling automatic functional testing after firmware writing. By conducting functional testing simultaneously with the writing process instead of as a separate step, we achieved a reduction in inspection labor.
