"Elastil" is a thermoplastic elastomer bead foam developed by our company. Our foaming technology achieves lightweight properties while maintaining the physical characteristics of elastomers, resulting in a material that has rubber-like elasticity, is as light as expanded polystyrene, and as soft as polyurethane foam. It offers extremely high resilience and cushioning compared to conventional soft foams. Sports shoes, including running shoes, require not only lightweight design but also resilience for comfortable and fast running, as well as cushioning for a pleasant fit. Resilience and cushioning are inherently opposing characteristics, and there have been many challenges in achieving both. However, our "Elastil" makes it possible to meet these two performance requirements and is used as the midsole material in high-performance running shoes.
