An application for quality assurance in virtual vehicle development! Adopting proactive quality assurance methods.
We would like to introduce a successful example of a quality assurance framework for virtual prototype development by PSA. The company has adopted proactive quality assurance methods and developed a framework based on the open-integrated testing platform, CarMaker, equipped with MATLAB Simulink and several interfaces. Thanks to this framework, developers from various specialized departments can now read and understand all data. 【Case Overview】 ■ Customer: PSA ■ Country: Germany ■ Product: AXIOM ■ Challenge: Quality assurance for virtual prototype development ■ Solution - Application of different tools to achieve quality assurance similar to real-world development processes. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Various tools are being developed to realize model-based development. In automotive development, verification and testing using prototype vehicles are significantly constrained by time and cost, and although the importance of verification is increasing with the complexity of vehicle systems, it is difficult to rely solely on verification environments at the vehicle level. IPG Automotive provides a simulation environment for one vehicle, called the "Virtual Test Driving" platform, which can be utilized by all engineers involved in vehicle development from the early stages of the development process. Our company was established in 1984 as a spin-off from Karlsruhe University (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology). The mission established at the time of founding, to balance vehicle simulation and real-time computation, continues to this day, emphasizing the coupling of driver models and environment models, and is designed based on maneuver testing rooted in driver operation. Our platform is equipped with sensor models that are essential for recent ADAS/AD development, enabling virtual closed-loop verification that includes the vehicle, environment (roads and traffic flow), and driver.
