【Lecture Overview】 The spent fuel generated by nuclear power generation is reusable, and expanding its storage capacity enhances the flexibility of nuclear power generation and the nuclear fuel cycle, contributing to medium- to long-term energy security. The Recycled Fuel Storage Corporation was established in 2005 as the first spent fuel storage operator outside a nuclear power plant site in Japan, and it began operations on November 6, 2024.
