Ultra-compact high-capacity semi-solid portable power supply
The SSP-2000 (GUARDIAN) is a portable power supply that utilizes a semi-solid battery and GaN (gallium nitride) semiconductor. A semi-solid battery is one in which part or all of the internal electrolyte is solid. The semi-solid battery adopted by IDX is called a "liquid-addition type (impregnated type) semi-solid battery," which uses a composite electrolyte that incorporates a small amount of liquid electrolyte into a solid electrolyte. This achieves high safety and ionic conductivity. Additionally, the internal impedance of the semi-solid battery is reduced to one-tenth compared to conventional batteries, allowing ions to move in a space with minimal barriers (impedance), thus requiring less energy and significantly reducing heat generation. Furthermore, the inverter used inside the product employs GaN semiconductors. Compared to silicon semiconductors, GaN is more efficient and faster, leading to improved power conversion efficiency and contributing to the miniaturization and lightweight design of the product.
