SEC-MALS, which combines size exclusion chromatography and multi-angle static light scattering, is commonly used for the analysis of polymers but is also suitable for molecular weight analysis of low molecular weight (LMW) peptides. Multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detectors such as DAWN and miniDAWN are very useful for online measurement of the molecular weight of peptides under 1,000 daltons. LC-MS allows for detailed characterization analysis, including amino acid sequences and post-translational modifications. By combining LC-MS with SEC-MALS, comprehensive data can be obtained, ranging from detailed analysis to the overall molecular weight and aggregates of peptides.
