Multi-angle light scattering (MALS) detectors such as DAWN and miniDAWN are very useful for online measurement of the molecular weight of peptides under 1,000 daltons. LC-MS allows for detailed characterization analysis, including amino acid sequences and post-translational modifications. By combining LC-MS with SEC-MALS, comprehensive data can be obtained, ranging from detailed analysis to the overall molecular weight and aggregates of peptides.
