In the 5th session, we will focus on the means to "realize" ideas and explain sdtech's approach to design engineering!
In the previous fourth session [“Ideas” necessary for design engineering], we explained design engineering as a means to discover “what to conceive and how to realize it” as the original upstream process of design and development. This time, we will introduce “how to realize it.” Recently, in application development required for products and services, by utilizing various tools and services, the process of prototyping what has been defined in requirements and design, and evaluating the validity of the incorporated requirements has become more efficient, although it cannot be said to be “easy.” By advancing digitization within the development team, efficiency has been improved. It is important not to eliminate the “ideas” generated in the previous process merely as theoretical discussions but to make them tangible. This allows for the identification of areas for improvement and better requirements during the concretization process, and it also enables prioritization towards “realization.” *For detailed content of the column, please refer to the related links or download the PDF. We aim to develop products and services with high UX through design consulting that generates ideas and designs using a human-centered design approach, and engineering that can realize (PoC, development, implementation) those designs. In product and service development, the challenges of what kind of system should be built and what kind of services should be provided can only be properly addressed through business design and planning, which are upstream processes beyond idea generation and requirement definition. To achieve this, the collaboration of both engineers and designers is essential. By having designers and engineers work together from the very beginning phases to design business and user experiences, we can create products that are user-friendly and functionally adequate, thus developing products that balance user experience and functionality. To realize this, our company focuses on having designers and engineers work as one team, rather than in separate roles, to pursue the creation of user-friendly products.
