Introducing examples of processing brown and transparent pine cones and transparent snakes!
Here is an introduction to a case where transparent pine cones and snakes were created using polycarbonate (PC). The pine cone was 3D modeled with randomness, and machined from a block of sheet material. Due to the many undercut areas in the model, it was divided into seven parts, machined, glued together, and finally finished with a transparency treatment. For the snake, since dividing it would make the lines stand out, it was created using a single machining process to express the snake's expression, dynamism, and three-dimensionality, enhancing its presence. Because it was difficult to beautifully express the spiral shape, multiple jigs were made for multi-surface machining. It was then finished with a transparency treatment.
