Protecting people's safety, while ensuring the operation of AGV/AMR does not stop【N Sensing】.
YKC Amulet N Sensing
A workplace where humans and robots collaborate. A safety support system that balances safety and operational efficiency. "N Sensing"
N-Sensing is a safety measure system that achieves a balance between "safety" and "productivity" in smart factories where AGVs, AMRs, and collaborative robots are active. It can distinguish and detect workers with tags from other objects, allowing it to output control signals for slowing down or stopping AGVs and AMRs only when a worker approaches, thus preventing a decrease in operational efficiency due to excessive safety measures. 【Features】 ■ Reliable detection using magnetic fields and radio waves - Detection is possible even when obstructed by cargo or obstacles - Workers at corners or in blind spots can also be detected ■ Person detection via tags - Only workers with tags are identified - By combining with existing object sensors, detection distances for people and objects can be set separately ■ Flexible setting of detection areas - The detection area is shaped like a rugby ball and can be set in six stages between a radius of 0.5m to 3m - Control signals can be output in two stages: outer area and inner area ■ Optimization of vehicle operating speed - By connecting detection devices to AGVs/AMRs/collaborative robot AMRs, they can slow down or stop only when a tag is detected, while maintaining high-speed operation during normal conditions *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or contact us.

basic information
【Detection Function】 ■ Detection Method Non-contact detection using a combination of magnetic field and radio wave technology Detects only the tag wearer ■ Detection Area Shape: Rugby ball-shaped centered around the detector Detection Distance: 0.5m to 3m (adjustable in 6 stages) ■ Detection Stages Two-stage detection (outer area and inner area) Independent signal output for each area 【Output Specifications】 ■ Contact Output A contact/B contact selectable Signal output corresponding to the outer and inner areas 【Compatible Devices】 ■ Connectable Equipment Various automated transport and work equipment such as AGVs and AMRs Can be used in conjunction with existing sensors to ensure safety and productivity *Standard products are prohibited from being used for applications related to the safe operation of vehicles. Please contact us separately if you are considering installation on equipment other than vehicles. 【Device Configuration】 ■ Detection Unit Installed on vehicles or equipment. The detection unit can control deceleration, stopping, etc., by connecting the contact signal to the control system. ■ Tag Carried by the worker. When the tag enters the detection area, a contact signal is output from the detection unit, and an alarm sounds from the tag.

Applications/Examples of results
【Purpose】 1. Safety measures for AGVs and AMRs - Preventing accidents in blind spots - Avoiding head-on collisions at corners and intersections - Ensuring reliable detection of operators even in blind spots caused by cargo - Optimizing speed control - Deceleration and stop control only when detecting humans - Maintaining high-speed operation in unmanned areas 2. Improving productivity of AMRs equipped with collaborative robots - Flexible control of work speed - Applying speed limits only when operators approach 3. Ensuring safety for forklift AGVs - Measures for blind spots caused by cargo - Detecting operators behind cargo, which is difficult for LiDAR 【Benefits of Implementation】 ■ Contributing to the automation and labor-saving of the workplace - Ideal for sites advancing automation and labor-saving while ensuring the safety of unmanned equipment. - Achieving a balance between safety and productivity, accelerating the transition to smart factories. ■ Reducing the risk of collision and damage to expensive machinery - Ensuring reliable detection of operator tags and preventing collision accidents through automatic deceleration and stopping of machinery. This significantly reduces repair and replacement costs.

Starting with operations at the steelworks, Yoshikawa Industries has reached its 100th anniversary. We continue to take on challenges that break away from existing frameworks. As a challenge outside the steel industry, we established a dedicated manufacturer, Yoshikawa Industries RF Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (1999), and provide a total solution from chip design to tag manufacturing and system integration. Leveraging our 100 years of on-site know-how and expertise in RFID, we will engage with your site through "ICT × Safety × RFID."
