Thermography is a non-destructive testing method, allowing inspection and analysis while observing the operation before removing parts or conducting analysis with SEM by pinpointing leaks. Currently, with the increase in substrates and microelectronics at a lead pitch of 20 microns, temperature measurement has become extremely challenging. The PCB leak finder uses the Thermal View X MCR series, which typically supports various pitches such as 12 microns, 20 microns, and 40 microns, and there are also high-resolution models that go below 8 microns. This product is capable of inspecting increasingly miniaturized devices. Additionally, when a leak occurs, the inspection becomes extremely complicated, but it can be confirmed simply by looking at the images. It captures heat generation in the milliwatt range and with a few tenths of a degree, aiding in the identification of leak locations.
