We have published a case study of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology.
The Power of Prototyping to Support Communication During Disasters: A Case Study on the Introduction of G-ZERO L1 3D Printer by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT).
The Resilient ICT Research Center of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) is a research department that aims to achieve "uninterrupted communication," as its name suggests. This time, we spoke with Mr. Goji Sato, a research technician at the Sustainable ICT Systems Laboratory of the center, and Mr. Kota Kido, the chief of the Manufacturing Group in the Radio Utilization Management and Manufacturing Office of the Business Planning Department, who supports NICT's prototyping efforts, about the realities of the research field and the importance of prototyping.

Applications/Examples of results
When creating a sphere composed of a dense lattice structure using TPU, it resulted in a long printing process lasting over two days, but the printing was successfully completed. The prototype also includes housings for drone-mounted communication devices and sensor holders used within MRI machines. "Depending on the device, it may also include server functions or batteries, so weight reduction and center of gravity design are important. We can come up with improvement proposals for problems that arise on-site and implement them immediately."
