Technical Data: Non-aqueous Titration of Weak Bases (Amine Value) Using Perchloric Acid
ANT-239
Rapid and accurate measurement of amine value using a perchloric acid-acetic acid titration solution (non-aqueous titration) with an automatic titration device.
This application note describes the non-aqueous perchloric acid titration of amines. Specifically, the concentration of triethanolamine (TEA) is measured by titrating with perchloric acid in a glacial acetic acid solvent, using Solvotrode easyClean and lithium chloride-ethanol as the electrolyte (internal liquid of the electrode).
