Repair Procedure Overview
Here are the steps for repairing a hole in steam piping with heat-resistant repair putty (photos are at the bottom of the page). 【Repair Process】 1: Surface Preparation Remove rust and old paint using a scraper, and degrease with acetone or similar to eliminate oil, moisture, and dirt. 2: Filling the Hole Pre-fill the hole and prepare the surface. 2.5: Preparing Glass Tape (if necessary) Used in cases of high leakage pressure or to increase strength. Cut to the required length in advance. 3: Applying Heat-Resistant Primer Apply around the repair area to reduce adhesion loss at high temperatures. 4: Preparing Heat-Resistant Repair Putty (for two-component types) Mix in the specified ratio until the color and consistency are uniform. 5: Applying Heat-Resistant Repair Putty (First Application) For the first application, apply a thin layer, working it into the uneven areas to enhance adhesion. 6: Using Glass Tape Saturate the tape with heat-resistant repair putty and wrap it tightly with strong tension. 7: Applying Heat-Resistant Repair Putty (Second Application) For the second application, build up to approximately 5-6mm thickness. 8: Shaping After gelation, lightly smooth the surface with a gloved finger that has a small amount of solvent on it. *For more details, please refer to the illustrations at the bottom of the page.
