Hydrogen leak detection and monitoring system using special optical fiber sensors. For the entire process from hydrogen production and storage to operation!
Hydrogen, one of the next-generation energy candidates, has many advantages as a clean energy source that does not emit CO2 during use. However, due to its flammable concentration in the air being 4% and its lower ignition energy compared to gasoline and natural gas, it requires specific safety management throughout the processes of production, supply, and operation. Adequate ventilation and leak detection are essential safety requirements. This system is a dedicated sensing system product specialized for hydrogen leak detection and monitoring, utilizing a patented special optical fiber sensor from UFS ARK in the U.S. (As of April 2026, the product status is still in the prototype stage with development elements remaining, and a commercial product announcement is planned within the year.) The advantages of the optical fiber sensor, such as long-distance and wide-area deployment, electromagnetic field resistance, and inherent explosion-proof properties, can be maintained while also allowing for the installation of sensors for detecting other parameters like strain, temperature, and vibration on the same fiber line. [About UFS ARK, Inc.] UFS ARK is a joint venture between the Dutch UFS and the American OgMentum, headquartered at West Kentucky University in Kentucky, USA, with R&D and manufacturing facilities. It started operations in December 2025. In the Japanese market, our company will act as the domestic representative, initiating sales activities and proposing solutions to customers.
