Double Ridge Horn Antenna 1GHz to 8GHz TBMA4
CISPR 16 divides the frequency range into multiple bands and specifies a particular antenna for each band. For frequency ranges above 1 GHz, CISPR 16 stipulates the use of a wideband horn antenna for radiated noise measurements. Standard wideband horn antennas for EMC applications are very expensive and cover a much broader range than the frequency ranges typically available with low-cost EMC pre-compliance spectrum analyzers. To provide an antenna optimized for pre-compliance EMC test applications in the frequency range above 1 GHz, Tekbox has developed the TBMA4 double ridge horn measurement antenna. It is an affordable product that can be used for radiated noise EMC pre-compliance testing and generating specified electric field strengths. The TBMA4 has been characterized over a frequency range from 1 GHz to 8 GHz and features a typical radiation pattern for double ridge horn antennas. The TBMA4 is a compact double ridge horn antenna, with the radiating element made from an edge-plated PCB substrate.
