Site survey before installing access points using a handheld spectrum analyzer (wireless LAN) Typically, when installing access points, the accompanying software is used to observe the wireless LAN signal conditions. However, in this case, the influence of devices that can cause radio interference, such as Bluetooth, microwaves, and cordless phones, cannot be observed. By using a spectrum analyzer, it is possible to measure the radio conditions of both wireless LAN and other devices, allowing for installation in appropriate locations and channels. The handheld spectrum analyzer from Micronix is very affordable and can measure the radio conditions in a wide range, from the frequency bands of 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless LAN to 50kHz to 8.5GHz.
