It reduces the burden of maintenance for casting molds and dramatically improves the shot cycle.
Plansee's tungsten material "DENSIMET" and molybdenum material "TZM" reduce the maintenance burden of casting molds and improve shot cycles. DENSIMET achieves a lifespan several times to tens of times longer compared to steel and other non-ferrous metal inserts, making its effects particularly noticeable in areas where thermal loads are unavoidable by design. Additionally, it allows for a smooth casting surface, significantly reducing costs in subsequent finishing processes.

basic information
Typically, when molds experience thermal fatigue, cracks form on the surface, leading to product sticking. However, Planze products possess a low thermal expansion rate of about one-third that of steel and high-temperature strength, which provides excellent crack resistance and eliminates sticking to products. Additionally, due to their non-reactivity with molten aluminum, they are also effective for applications where prevention of melting or adhesion is desired. Furthermore, by utilizing high thermal conductivity, it is possible to maximize cooling effects, reduce shrinkage cavities, and achieve a fine and robust casting structure. ■□ For more details, please request materials or contact us □■
