Compression Strength Testing Service | JTL
Evaluation Test > Service > Material Property Evaluation > Mechanical Property Evaluation > Compressive Strength Test Service
We will evaluate the mechanical properties (strength) of materials and products through compression testing.
In this service, we evaluate the "strength," which is a type of "mechanical property," of materials such as metals, resins, and ceramics, as well as products and parts like castings and resin-molded items, through compression testing. The evaluation items include data that can be obtained from compression tests, such as compressive strength, strain, elastic modulus, and yield point. We can accommodate tests in accordance with standards such as JIS, and even for non-standard testing methods and specimen shapes, we can provide flexible support by creating jigs and processing test specimens according to the specific requirements.

basic information
【Support for testing samples of various materials and shapes】 We accommodate a variety of materials such as metals, plastics, rubber, ceramics, and FRP. Additionally, we can conduct tests not only on standardized test specimens but also on products and parts in their original shapes. 【Support for testing across a wide temperature range from low to high temperatures】 By combining a constant temperature chamber and an atmospheric furnace, we can conduct tests not only at room temperature but also in temperature environments ranging from low to high (−150℃ to 1100℃). ● High-temperature atmospheric furnace: 300℃ to 1100℃ ● High-temperature and low-temperature constant temperature chamber: −150℃ to 320℃ 【Output of various testing items】 For strain measurement, we can use strain gauges and video extensometers in addition to the mechanical (between chucks) stroke, allowing for the output of various testing items such as compressive strength, strain, elastic modulus, and yield point. 【Support for a wide range of testing forces】 With a maximum load capacity of 300kN (approximately 30 tons) and load cells ranging from 10N to 300kN (values displayed in 1/1000 units), we can conduct a wide range of tests from low to high loads.

Applications/Examples of results
【Standard Testing】 ● We can conduct compression tests in accordance with the following standards. (*Please note that there may be cases where we cannot accommodate certain evaluation contents.) JIS K 7181: Test methods for the compression characteristics of plastics JIS K 7139: Test specimens for plastics JIS K 7056: Compression test methods for glass fiber reinforced plastics (※Old standard) JIS R 1608: Test methods for the compressive strength of fine ceramics 【Non-standard Testing】 ● Compression strength tests can be conducted on aluminum die-cast products and resin molded products in their product shape. ● Measurement of the force required to compress plastic products to a certain thickness. ● Measurement of the force required to deform or break cylindrical ceramic or fiber-reinforced plastic products when compressed. ● Measurement of the force required to press-fit metal components.
Company information
Our main business is providing technical services to evaluate the reliability of developed products. We not only provide evaluation data in accordance with standards and regulations, but also propose optimal methods, conditions, and equipment for evaluation purposes, as well as design and manufacture original equipment and jigs for non-standard evaluations. Additionally, we handle three evaluation techniques—measurement, testing, and analysis—comprehensively, allowing us to offer complex services that span diverse equipment and suggest more multifaceted evaluation methods.
