It is a zirconia-type oxygen sensor using oxygen-conducting ceramic (YSZ).
This device is a zirconia-type oxygen sensor using oxygen-conducting ceramic (YSZ). When gas with different oxygen partial pressures flows on both sides of a yttria-stabilized zirconia tube, which has platinum electrodes baked onto both the inner and outer surfaces, an electromotive force is generated that is proportional to the logarithm of the oxygen partial pressure ratio, according to the Nernst equation. It has a fast response speed and can measure with high accuracy.
