basic information
In the case of adjacent spot welding positions, the current that should concentrate on the second spot may split at the first spot, resulting in insufficient melting at the first spot. While some designers may choose to create more spot locations from a strength perspective, the number of spots does not always equate to strength. In so-called precision sheet metal work, I believe that a proper balance is important. When the thickness is between 1.0 and 2.0 mm and the pitch is less than 20 mm, current splitting occurs. As a response, it is necessary to adjust the current values for the first and second spots, increasing the current for the second spot by 20% to 30%. Clear differences will be evident in tests such as chisel tests.
