The Model 9734−WIN ice sensor for wind power generation detects icing in cold regions and can prevent damage caused by ice accumulation. It distinguishes between snow, frost, dew, condensation, and white ice based on transparency, and identifies water, raindrops, and clear ice by their refractive index. The Model 9734−WIN monitors the transparency and refractive index of substances in contact with the probe surface. It detects the initial stages of icing phenomena and transmits warning signals. The sharp-edged part of the probe is designed to prevent rainwater from accumulating on the sensor. Since it does not use moving parts, it is maintenance-free.
