■□Adoption Environment□■ Panasonic was looking for a modular interface that could support multiple FA field buses and industrial Ethernet for the FP-Sigma series. Due to the very compact design of the FP-Sigma series, the communication interface needed to be of a very limited size, and it was essential to have a low-power type that is compatible with 3.3V. ■□Adoption Effects□■ Panasonic adopted the Anybus-CC module for various reasons. By using Anybus technology, they were able to reduce development costs by about 70% compared to in-house development. Additionally, they were able to bring products to market quickly, minimizing development risks. Panasonic aimed to recover their initial investment within a year of starting sales. Initially, they supported three types of networks with Anybus-CC and plan to gradually increase the number of supported networks.
