It started with the vibration measurement and dynamic balancing of turbine generators from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Vibration can always be a source of trouble in turbo machinery. In the case of long shafts or when strong centrifugal forces, like those from fans, are at play, the elastic forces of the shaft can disrupt dynamic balance. However, it is not possible to test every potential operating condition in advance, so we must establish patterns to achieve balance. In addition to essential items such as phase reference, rotational speed signals, and shaft vibration waveforms, we measure the vibration state and monitor dynamic balance by incorporating operating conditions like oil temperature and output.
