CERAFLOUR 1002 enhances scratch resistance and creates a soft touch effect. It has a matte finish effect, especially in radiation-curable systems, and produces a very transparent coating. Thanks to its particle size distribution, CERAFLOUR 1002 facilitates the creation of slightly textured surfaces. It does not affect viscosity or surface slip and does not cause foam stabilization. Additive for thermoplastic compounds: BYK-MAX CT 4260

Non-halogen flame-retardant thermoplastic plastic flame retardant additive. Layered silicate (clay) filler that improves gas barrier properties.

BYK-MAX CT 4260 improves flame retardant properties by promoting dripping suppression and char formation, making it suitable for use in halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic compounds. BYK-MAX CT 4260 can reduce the amount of fillers such as aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide. This results in improved processing characteristics and physical properties, as well as a reduction in the weight of the compound. The barrier properties against oxygen, water vapor, and hydrocarbons can be enhanced by using BYK-MAX CT 4260. In bioplastics such as thermoplastic plastics and polylactic acid (PLA), the melt viscosity increases, allowing for improved dimensional stability during extrusion.

Additive for thermoplastic compounds: BYK-MAX CT 4270

Organic modified layered silicates (clay materials) that impart reinforcing effects to thermoplastic compounds.

BYK-MAX CT 4270 allows for improvements in low density, surface appearance, flow length, dimensional stability, and scratch resistance by being added to TPO or polyolefin compounds in amounts of less than 10 weight percent, preferably less than 6 weight percent. It also enhances mechanical properties such as tensile strength. The intended applications are inorganic fillers or glass-filled compounds for TPO-based automotive parts. Unlike other commercially available clay products, BYK-MAX CT 4270 is based on mixed-form clay technology, which facilitates easy dispersion. The organic modification of BYK-MAX CT 4270 is designed to withstand thermal history in the compound. Our proprietary mixed-form clay exhibits excellent dispersibility. Additionally, changes in melt rheology can improve flow length within the mold and reduce resin temperature, leading to shorter cycle times. In composite formulations, a resin-rich surface is often observed. While increasing tensile strength, it is important to note that BYK-MAX CT 4270 may reduce impact strength. To avoid this, a comprehensive evaluation of the entire formulation is necessary. Blending with impact modifiers in the base resin is crucial for achieving the final performance results.

Solvent-based, 100%, and surface modifiers that increase the surface energy of UV coatings, achieving effective wetting of substrates and good leveling.

BYK-3568 is a surface-active additive that moderately reduces the surface tension of paint liquids, particularly solvent-based industrial and automotive paints. This contributes to improved wettability on substrates and helps prevent cratering. When the paint cures, BYK-3568 increases not only the surface slip properties but also the surface energy. This can have a positive effect on the wettability and adhesion of subsequent coatings, printing inks, labels, or adhesives. BYK-3568 has been developed for solvent-based, 100%, and UV systems. Its compatibility with water-based systems largely depends on mutual solubility. - Significant reduction in surface tension of paint liquids – equivalent effect to moderately active silicone - Contributes to good recoatability by increasing surface energy in the cured film, suppressing adverse effects on labels, printing inks, and adhesives - Improves wettability of the top layer when water-based paints are applied over it, ideal for two-tone painting - Good leveling properties, high surface slip (low surface slip COF) - Suitable for solvent-based, non-solvent-based, and UV systems; also suitable for water-based systems if mutual solubility is good.
