We would like to introduce a case study of Company E, which conducts quality tests on its products using measuring instruments, and has implemented a "Company Quality Management Database." They were considering changing to a new model of measuring instruments, but there was no mechanism to input data into the software they were using for quality tests. After the system was implemented, the results measured by the instruments were automatically output to each software, allowing them to reduce the man-hours required for tasks involving measuring instruments, including quality tests. "Raumkarte" is a world map and global database that compiles spatial geographic information from around the world with an accuracy of approximately 1/500,000. It achieves a hybrid display that allows multiple scale representations within a single database. The features (lines, points, polygons, text) consist of 20 categories and about 300 layers, each with display attributes assigned according to scale.
