Far infrared heating can supply a nearly constant heat flow into the interior of an object during the heating time.

One method of heat transfer, radiant heat transfer (far infrared heating), does not involve contact between the far infrared heater, which is the heat source, and the object. Therefore, even if the temperature of the object is set to a significantly higher level, the surface temperature of the object does not rise sharply. Organic materials, polymers, and ceramics that have absorbers at wavelengths of 3μ or more efficiently absorb heat on the surface through far infrared heating, which radiates at wavelengths of 3μ or more, allowing a nearly constant flow of heat into the interior of the object during the heating time. In other words, the entire object experiences a temperature increase.
