The power assist hinge HG-PA230-25 has been adopted for the cover opening and closing part of the chip mounter. [Key Issues] - There is not enough space to install a gas spring, but an assist function is desired when opening. - We want to make the device easy to see the stacked indicator lights. [Solutions] Due to the heavy weight of the cover, conventional models used gas springs; however, the new model faced the issue of not being able to install a gas spring due to the internal device configuration. The power assist hinge allows for the heavy cover to be opened easily with just the hinge, making it possible to replace the gas spring. Additionally, since it utilizes the spring's counterforce, there is no concern about gas leakage, which was also appreciated. We chose a type that can be installed inside the device, making it possible to have a device where the stacked indicator lights are easy to see. This product can be easily selected using the selection tool "Suga-kun," and simulations can be conducted before prototype verification. The customer in this case also first used the selection tool "Suga-kun," and after prototype verification, it was adopted for mass production models.
