We would like to introduce a case study of problem-solving at Sankyu Co., Ltd., which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018. In response to the instruction from the local fire department regarding "20 air changes per hour" for ventilation, we went back to discussions with the design office and explained our past achievements. We obtained permission for 5 air changes per hour. For the lightning protection system, we changed the plan from the costly "point discharge type" to the "conductor type." We proposed and adopted just the right specifications for both the ventilation and lightning protection systems.
