Passive Technology "P-max Treatment (Passivate max)"

By adding high corrosion-resistant metal compounds to conventional passivation solutions, it is possible to create a surface that is more resistant to rust.

We would like to introduce the passivation technology known as "P-max treatment (Passivate max)." This technology involves performing electrolytic polishing as a pre-treatment to dissolve and remove the altered layer caused by buff polishing and machining, while also modifying the outermost surface to create a chromium-rich layer with a chromium to iron content ratio of 1.6:1 or higher. Furthermore, after enhancing corrosion resistance through electrolytic polishing, the material is immersed in a special passivation solution to generate a more stable and dense oxide film, while also incorporating highly corrosion-resistant metal compounds within that film. 【Features】 ■ High pitting corrosion resistance ■ Pitting corrosion potential ranges from 800 mV to 1000 mV ■ High corrosion resistance and cleanliness ■ High leaching resistance ■ Highly corrosion-resistant metal compounds are incorporated within the passivation film *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Inactivation treatment (passivation treatment)

Passivation treatment that brings out the corrosion resistance inherent in stainless steel.

The passive film on the surface of manufactured stainless steel products is in an incomplete state due to various causes that occur during the processing. This condition is prone to the destruction of the passive film, which can lead to rust formation. Passivation treatment is a surface treatment that restores this incomplete passive film to its original state and further strengthens it to a chromium-rich condition, with the aim of improving corrosion resistance (to prevent rusting). 【Features of Passivation Treatment】 ◆ No change in appearance ◆ No change in dimensions ◆ No change in hardness ◆ Compatible with various stainless steel materials ◇◇ Please feel free to contact us for more details ◇◇

Inertialization process

Forms a uniform oxide film on stainless steel, significantly reducing corrosion risk. This is a high corrosion-resistant, low-cost surface treatment technology that can accommodate complex shapes and mass-produced items.

The passivation treatment by Toyo Chemical involves chemically re-forming a stable oxide film (passivation film) on the surface of stainless steel, significantly enhancing the metal's corrosion resistance as a post-processing technology. It reconstructs the protective film that may have been temporarily lost during processing, welding, or heat treatment, preventing rust formation and improving the reliability and durability of the product. This treatment is applicable not only to austenitic stainless steels but also to ferritic and martensitic stainless steels, with proven results in various materials including SUS304 and SUS316. It is often introduced as a subsequent process after pickling or degreasing, and when combined with electropolishing or buff polishing, it can yield further benefits in both appearance quality and functionality. Since the passivation treatment is a non-contact process using chemical solutions, it allows for uniform treatment of internal surfaces and complex shapes without the risk of deformation. It is also capable of handling large-scale processing, enabling stable supply at low costs. Main applications include medical devices, food manufacturing equipment, semiconductor-related components, sanitary piping, and valve parts. This treatment technology, which supports the production of rust- and corrosion-resistant products, has received high praise in environments where long-term quality maintenance is required.

The mechanism and benefits of immobilization processing.

Contributes to the stabilization of the immobilized film! The rust resistance inherent in stainless steel is dramatically improved.

The reason stainless steel is resistant to rust is thanks to the "passivation film" that covers its surface. This thin film prevents oxygen from penetrating to the interior, protecting the material from rust and corrosion caused by oxidation. "Passivation treatment" refers to the process of artificially enhancing the passivation film that stainless steel possesses, and it occupies an important position in metal finishing alongside polishing. Additionally, there are no changes in the appearance or dimensions of the material, allowing for long-term quality maintenance. 【Features】 ■ By artificially enhancing the oxide film, the inherent rust resistance of stainless steel is dramatically improved. ■ It protects the material not only from corrosion but also from corrosion due to high oxidative environments in steam conditions. ■ There are no changes in the appearance or dimensions of the material, enabling long-term quality maintenance. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Improving corrosion resistance without changing dimensions or appearance! Stainless steel passivation treatment.

While removing dirt from the surface of the parts, improve corrosion resistance! Since it is not a coating film, there is no risk of peeling!

"Stainless Steel Passivation Treatment" is a process that further enhances the corrosion resistance of stainless steel, which is generally said to be rust-resistant. It can be applied to all types of stainless steel, is colorless and transparent, and does not change the appearance after treatment. Additionally, there is no dimensional change, so it is also possible to treat the surface after applying a design. 【Features】 ■ Colorless and transparent; no change in appearance after treatment ■ Applicable to all types of stainless steel ■ Removes surface dirt from components, such as natural adhesion ■ Improves corrosion resistance *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Improving corrosion resistance! Stainless steel passivation treatment.

No significant changes in product appearance or dimensions! Improved corrosion resistance of stainless steel!

The "stainless steel passivation treatment" is a surface treatment that makes stainless steel more resistant to rust. This technology forms a strong and stable passive film on the surface by immersing the product in a solution with strong oxidizing power under specific conditions. It strengthens the passivation film on the stainless steel surface and improves corrosion resistance. 【Features】 ■ It is possible to further enhance the corrosion resistance of stainless steel. ■ There is almost no change in product appearance or dimensions. ■ Excellent cleaning effect allows for the removal of contaminants, such as dissimilar metals, which can be the starting point for corrosion on the surface of parts. ■ Further improvement in corrosion resistance can be achieved when used in conjunction with electropolishing. ■ Effective for most types of stainless steel. *Some types of stainless steel may not be suitable for treatment, or it is recommended to use it in conjunction with electropolishing. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Static processing

It is possible to process in cases where it is difficult to remove burns, where you want to enhance corrosion resistance, or where you desire gloss!

"Passivation treatment" is a surface treatment that applies a passive film to stainless steel, with the aim of improving corrosion resistance (making it less prone to rust). In cases where stains are difficult to remove, where rust has already occurred, or when there is a desire to enhance corrosion resistance or achieve a glossy finish, treatments are combined. Additionally, our company also performs "buff polishing," a method of cleaning metal surfaces, which is also referred to as buffing. 【Features of Passivation Treatment】 ■ The surface is oxidized by immersing it in a nitric acid solution of about 30%, forming a new passive film. ■ After buff polishing, passivation treatment makes it less likely for fingerprints and other marks to adhere. ■ After buff polishing, passivation treatment results in a smoother surface. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Static processing

Temperature control of the processing solution is possible! Processing can be done regardless of shape, from one piece to large lots.

"Passivation treatment," also known as passivation processing, involves immersing the product in a treatment solution to form a passive film on the surface of the product. This process allows stainless steel products to be protected from corrosion for a long time, adding value to the products and enabling them to maintain their beauty without rusting. Since it is colorless and transparent, and there are no changes in appearance or dimensions after treatment, it can also be applied after designing the base surface. [Features] - Fine adjustments can be made to meet customer needs - Can be processed in conjunction with electropolishing - Can be processed regardless of shape, from one piece to large lots - Careful handling of cleaning and packaging tasks *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
