To suppress distortion and increase surface hardness, nitriding hardening is used.
Compared to carbonization, deformation and dimensional changes are minimal!
- It is possible to achieve a surface hardness of 800 HV or higher even with low carbon steel. - The amount of gas used is about 1/10 of that for gas nitriding. - There is a high resistance to temper softening. - The finish is better compared to carburizing and similar processes. - Corrosion resistance is better than that of carburizing.
