*Snowfall countermeasures: Roof snow melting (metal roofing/standing seam roofing/SUS exposed piping system)

Use SUS straight pipes or SGP straight pipes! Heat conduction occurs in the order of piping → snow to melt the snow!

We would like to introduce our "Roof Snow Melting System (Metal Roofing - Standing Seam and Folded Plate / SUS Exposed Pipe Type)." The metal finishing accommodates various styles such as standing seam (horizontal piping), horizontal one-piece (vertical piping), and folded plate (horizontal piping). SUS or SGP straight pipes are arranged on top of the roof metal using dedicated fittings, and a heated antifreeze solution is circulated within the pipes, creating heat conduction from the pipes to the snow, thereby melting it. 【Features】 ■ Circulation of heated antifreeze within the pipes ■ Metal finishing accommodates standing seam (horizontal piping), horizontal one-piece (vertical piping), and folded plate (horizontal piping) *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

High efficiency with electric power! Snow melting without water dispersion that can be installed even in areas where groundwater is difficult to obtain.

Snow melting using a "heat pump"! It is said to have a low environmental impact and to be energy-saving!

When it comes to snow management in snowy regions, many people think of "sprinkling melting snow" using groundwater or "snow melting pipes." However, our specialty lies in "non-sprinkling snow melting," which can be implemented even in areas where groundwater is difficult to obtain. In the past, the overwhelming majority of heat sources were boilers that burned kerosene or gas, but in the last decade, a new force has emerged: snow melting using "heat pumps" that generate warm water using electricity. Under favorable conditions, they can produce warm water with about four times the energy compared to the electricity consumed, which is said to have a low environmental impact and be energy-efficient. If you would like to see a demonstration with actual equipment, we have one operating daily in our parking lot on National Route 117, so please feel free to stop by. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

Snow measures are not limited to snow melting plans; there are also examples of concurrent structural renovations.

An idea to bend the "H" shaped large roof towards the road halfway! A case where the snow on the small roof has beautifully melted away.

In late autumn 2021, we received an inquiry from a customer in Ojiya City, Niigata Prefecture, saying, "We want to implement snow melting on the road surface." As a second proposal, we re-planned the idea of bending the "H" shaped large roof from the middle on the road side, modifying the large roof that was bent and the small roof that previously required manual snow removal for snow melting. The snow falling from the large roof to the back area remains unchanged, and since the area where heat energy is added is small, we can now spend time without worrying about snow removal from the small roof or the snow disposal after it falls onto the road. [Challenges] ■ The customer is a company manager, and it is quite difficult to approach snow removal in perfect physical and mental condition. ■ Snow falling from the large roof on the road side accumulates on the directly below small roof, and the snow piled high must be removed manually again. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Information] Here’s what’s different! Seven reasons why Hokueki Snow Melting is chosen.

From melting with brute force to melting wisely! A clear explanation of each point.

In this document, we introduce seven points that make Hokueki Snow Melting a preferred choice. Starting with "a well-balanced snow melting capability developed through research in heavy snowfall areas," we also cover "a snow melting surface boasting high heat dissipation ≪concealed method≫," "different piping pitches for each roof surface," and "rust-proof circulating fluid designed with safety in mind," among others. We will provide clear explanations for each point. Please take a moment to read through it. 【Content Overview (Partial)】 ■ A well-balanced snow melting capability developed through research in heavy snowfall areas ■ A snow melting surface boasting high heat dissipation ≪concealed method≫ ■ Different piping pitches for each roof surface ■ Rain gutter freeze prevention piping to suppress icicle and snow cornice formation ■ Transitioning from "melting by brute force" to "melting intelligently" *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Example 3] Detached House Roof Snow Melting (Electric Heater Type, Concealed Method)

Combining PTC characteristic electric heaters for concealed installation! The construction cost will be relatively low!

We would like to introduce a case study of roof snow melting (electric heater type, concealed method) in a detached house. For small roof areas, combining PTC characteristic electric heaters with snow melting panels and using a concealed installation method can result in relatively low construction costs. PTC heaters have the characteristic of high output at low temperatures, with output becoming milder as the temperature increases, allowing for both fuel efficiency and overheating prevention. However, it is important to note that the breaker capacity needs to be about twice the rated output, and in areas with heavy snowfall in a short period, it may not keep up. 【Case Overview】 ■ Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture ■ PTC Heater ■ 21m² *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Construction Case 12] Complex Cultural Facility Roof Snow Melting (Hot Water Type, Concealed Method)

The concrete slab is hollowed out only around the perimeter, and snow-melting panels are installed! Aluminum composite three-layer pipes are used.

We would like to introduce a case study of roof snow melting (hot water type, concealed method) installation. In the construction of a highly designed complex cultural facility, the design was progressing with a structural strength capable of withstanding 6 meters of snow. However, due to concerns about the impact of snow falling from the roof perimeter onto the surrounding area, it was decided to incorporate roof snow melting urgently. The concrete slab was partially hollowed out around the perimeter to install snow melting panels. Considering the long piping length and the evaporation of hot water due to induced lightning, aluminum composite three-layer pipes were used instead of copper pipes. 【Case Overview】 ■ Tokamachi City, Niigata Prefecture ■ Wall-mounted gas boiler ■ 477 m² *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Video Now Available] Roof Snow Melting and Road Surface Snow Melting - Dangerous Work Not Allowed! Improve Productivity!

Gas boiler heat source, hot water circulation type, snow melting panel concealed method, exposed SUS piping method, PEX buried method, Niigata Sanrin Tokamachi Sales Office.

This time, we would like to introduce Niigata Sanrin in Tokamachi City. With the rebuilding of their office building, we implemented snow melting for the roof and pavement. Tokamachi City is one of the snowiest areas in Japan, with a maximum snow depth of 210 cm in February. Sanrin is a fuel supply company, and tank trucks come and go at the gas station multiple times a day. It would not be feasible for employees to clear the snow each time, so we installed pavement snow melting and roof snow melting for both the office building and the gas station canopy, eliminating the need for manual snow removal. Sanrin sells both kerosene and propane gas, but this time we used a gas-fired boiler powered by propane, which has a relatively low environmental impact, for the hot water circulation system. Compared to the surrounding snow accumulation, the roof and pavement are beautifully cleared of snow. We are here to assist with snow-related issues for both new homes and existing residences.

[Video Now Available] Melts evenly even in heavy snowfall! Roof snow melting system

Even construction professionals are convinced! Panel concealed hot water circulation system.

Tokamachi City is a town with a population of about 50,000, located near Nagano Prefecture, where the maximum snow depth in February is 210 cm (1991-2020). When trying to cope with this using electric heater-type snow melting, a large amount of energy, about 300 to 350 W per square meter, is required. Therefore, even for a house of about 30 tsubo (approximately 100 square meters), the equipment would need to be around 30 kW, and in both heavy and light snowfall years, the basic fee will be a burden according to the equipment capacity. In contrast, a hot water circulation system using a boiler or similar as a heat source can freely adjust the output through temperature control, making it more suitable for heavy snowfall areas since fuel costs can significantly decrease in light snowfall years. This time, since we are also renovating the roof, we concealed the snow melting panels beneath the metal sheeting. The roof surface warms evenly, allowing the snow to melt uniformly and beautifully. Mr. N, who is the president of a construction company, has been responsible for road snow removal in the area during the winter months, which meant that snow at his own home was inevitably put off until last. Due to this background, he decided to take the plunge and install a roof snow melting system this time. We are here to assist with snow-related issues not only for new homes but also for existing ones.
